7,000+ Autographed Baseball Card Acquisition – Want some?

Yes, it's true.  I just acquired one of the larger known autographed baseball card collections in Arizona.  It was assembled over the past 20 years from the Arizona Fall League, Spring Training, Legends Games, public signings, etc.  Every single one of these cards are autographed! It has been really fun to go through.  There are duplicates of several players, but most cards are different.  It is neat because if you want an autograph from a specific player, you generally are limited to whatever cards he has been told to sign by Topps.  This collection has all kinds of cards that

Garage Sale Finds!

My wife is a life-long garagesaleaholic, and goes whenever she can.  I haven't gone in years, but this past weekend, I was bitten by the bug, and decided to go.  The night before, I noticed a mini storage place was having a sale, so I said OOOH!  Lets take a look-see.  Someone posted up saying there were going to be sports autographs.  Heck, it was down the street, so why not?  We loaded up the kiddos and drove down.  When we got there, and I first walked up, I saw a face I recognized.  As it turns out, the guy

Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Huge Vintage Collection Find

HUGE Vintage Find Heartbreaker Sit down, grab a cup of coffee and kick back.  This is going to be a bit of a read.  I found someone online, in town here, who, had a "huge vintage collection".  That has my name written all over it, so I decided to contact him.  Finally, after a number of days passed by, he sent me about 26 emails of pictures overnight.  When I woke up, I reached for my phone as I do ritually, and look at my email.  Needless to say, what I saw aided me in waking up that much quicker.

Emerging from the cardboard

What you see, is alllll cardboard! These past few months have been a real trip.  The cardshow, and some other deals I had going on really made me put my nose to the grindstone with cards.  I have found treasure after treasure.  More importantly, most of it has found a new home, so our garage isn't so cluttered anymore :)  The card show, as always, was a blast.  I spent more than I normally do, but am now in the black, and, still have TONS of stuff left over!  Among them, about 750 8x10 autographs, 23 framed autographs, 13 boxes

This past weekend’s sports card show = WINNING

I have been going to card shows for years.  I would say that this is the best one yet..by quite a  bit!  I went all three days, and took my son with me one of the days, as usual.  While his eyes were searching for all things star wars, I was on the hunt for deals that I can have fun with and get rid of in order to keep this a debt free hobby for me.  Let's just say I'm going to have to sell more from this show in order for that to happen ;)  Friday evening was

Interview with Elton Brand Super Collection Winner

Recently, we got to catch up with Kevin M. of Washington, to hear more about how his life has changed ever since becoming the proud new owner of the Elton Brand Super Collection.  Read this exclusive interview here.  How did you run across this auction? Actually, I wrote a computer program that aggregates my searches across Craigslist, Amazon, Ebay, PoliceAuctions.com, ShopGoodwill.com and a few other sites like MuletsGalore.com and its sister site, nightowlcards.blogspot.com. The program has been running on my supercomputer for several years with zero hits, so when this one came up, I knew I had to have it.

A note to myself when getting googly-eyed at blaster boxes

I was gonna do a video of myself addressing me of the future, but figured I'd chillax on the whole vid thang for a while.  Instead, here is a letter: Dear me of the future, You are reading this because for whatever reason, you are planning on buying boat loads of blaster and retail boxes ... heck ... even hobby boxes.   Some of the many, many boxes I picked up this past winter.  Man, was that fun! Possible causes are: - it is your birthday or christmas - there is a monster card show in town - you have read

I’m a Greedy American

It has been an absolute blast doing these goofball auctions.  I thought it would be a good idea for half of the money I get from these auctions to go to help kids in need.  I have changed my mind.  It is not a good idea to give half.  It is a good idea to give it all.  The video explains a bit more about this.  Will you join me in doing the same?  If you do, I'd love to hear about it.  Tell me what you do so we can inspire others to help those in need. I have
