How many times did they reprint the Jose Canseco Rated Rookie?

If I had to pick THE most famous Jose Canseco baseball card, it'd be no surprise that I would say it is his rated rookie. Close behind? No doubt would be his 1987 Topps Rookie Cup.His Rookie Cup card has been reprinted a billion ways from Sunday, and while I think it is cool to be able to get different versions of it, I found this incredibly interesting:The number of times his most famous card was reprinted?Once. And they did it when he was still playing, in 2001.The card you see is my latest pickup. It comes in two flavors:

Trading Baseball Cards is the Best!

Hey everyone! It has been quite a while since I have posted. I normally hang out on social media these days, but missed writing. I thought I'd write up something having to do with my latest trade. As a child, nothing got me more excited than baseball cards.  I'm not sure what was better - getting a pack of cards to open, or trading cards.  As a 9 or 10 year old, I remember having opened some 1989 Topps, and carrying them around in a brown paper lunch bag.  The star of the show?  "Rock" Raines.  It had to be

Is this some sort of a record???

Topps chrome refractors packed a heckuva punch for Canseco collectors at the end of his career. His last at bat was 10/01, and his official retirement was 05/02.   Around the same time period, Topps released FOUR Canseco flagship refractors, all featuring him on different teams (Yankees, White Sox, Angels, Expos). (Is that some sort of a record???) I love using these three pictured as they were literally right in the mix of this time period. They are beautiful together!   With Jose only having played 76 games in his last season (he was picked up late by the White

1932 Sanella Babe Ruth – Did Hitler Collect Baseball Cards?

Happy Babe Ruth Day! On Feb. 6th, 1895, the Sultan of Swat was born.   Ironically enough, I JUST landed this Babe Ruth card! My friend Enrique came over yesterday, and we had a great time talking. BTW, Enrique is now a part of the T206 Wagner Flip Quest!   But anyway, onto the card...it is a SUPER fascinating one ...   Babe Ruth's 1932 Sanella offering pre-dates his Goudey cards, and has, perhaps, sinister implications, as it was produced in Germany during a very dark time.     While the Nazi party was reportedly fringe in years prior, by

Tanner is Growing Wax Stache … errr … Stash!

Last year, my wife heavily hinted that the waxed stache needed to go, so I've decided grow another wax stash instead ... wax boxes that were released during my childhood.   I'll be periodically posting my newest pickups with memories, perhaps some customs based upon that specific year, video reviews, etc.  It should be good fun and I hope you enjoy going down memory lane with me! Why am I doing this? When I began collecting again as an adult, I (like many here) wanted to rekindle that childhood spark of collecting.  I did this by attempting to assemble a run of

2017 Leaf Q Memorabilia Autographs Jose Canseco Rainbow Complete!

I've talked a lot about how impressed I've been with 2017 Leaf Q over the past few months.  For Jose Canseco, they come in three flavors: 2015 Flashback - My favorite by far - simply perfect. Patch Perfect - Nice large patches, tons of beautiful foil, but no picture. Memorabilia Autographs - Nice large swatches with on card autographs and lots of beautiful foil, but no patches. Months before the release, a friend texted me some pictures of Canseco signing several of these before anyone else had ever seen them, and I instantly fell in love. Those are beautiful, but

1999 Skybox Premium Star Rubies Extreme Bankruptcy Archive Jose Canseco

1999 Skybox Premium Star Rubies Extreme Bankruptcy Archive About 2 1/2 years ago, a slew of '99 Skybox Premium Star Rubies Extreme blank back cards hit eBay.  When Canseco came up, I wasn't quick enough to grab it.  I was preoccupied with getting an A&G Boxloader auto #/15 and missed the SRE. Limited to just 50 serial numbered copies, I hadn't seen another go up for sale, let alone a blank back version.  A little over a year later, this card was part of a much larger deal I did with another supercollector. The beauty of this card is definitely something to behold,
