Canseco Super Collector Top 10 Cards of the 1980s

Jose Canseco Top Cards of the Junk Wax Era This page has been modified to fit the junk wax era - we didn't quite make it to 10, but nevertheless, here they are! When you think of the junk wax era, you may think of the baseball card boom that started in the mid 80's and ended in the early 90's.  Many believe that this time period is worthless when it comes to collecting, but believe it or not, some of the most valuable, rarest baseball cards have come out of this time period.  The cards shown below are the

I made a GIF of Jose Canseco Swinging from my Baseball Cards

"Do you pronounce it GIF or JIF?" Out of all of the questions I post on facebook for debate, that one was quite possible the most hotly contested.  On one side, you have the folks pronouncing it with a hard G, and the others with a soft G (or...J).  The hard G's mock their adversaries by using lines from a pretty hilarious parody video of someone debating this while asking if they received a jift for the birthday jirl, etc.  Whereas the soft G's point out that the creator of the animated gif said it should be pronounced JIF. No matter which

A Canadian Thief, the NSCC & Tons of Customs

The National has come and gone, and with it, many projects have seen their completion!  Before I get into the NSCC and what happened, I figured I'd show off a few fun customs that don't have anything to do with anything else.  (Well, okay - the needle card actually was a partial trade deal for someone to get Jose to sign something for me.) Remember Deflate-Gate?  Someone online wanted me to create something fun for his buddy, so here it is:  A Bill Belichick cut auto with an inflation needle! I was completely done with this, and ... well...the needle wouldn't

Nothing but the Tooth

The Yankee Chipper, and that's the tooth! Puns have run amok since Aaron Judge broke his tooth while celebrating a Brett Gardner walk-off home run the other night, so I couldn't resist. Can you blame me?  :)

Jose Canseco Super Collector UPDATED Top 10 Game Used / Autographed Cards in My Collection

QUICK!!!  Your house is on fire, and you can only save ten cards in your collection.  What are they?! That is the question I posed to a friend of mine.  As a Jose Canseco super collector I do this with myself as well, and it almost ALWAYS seems like I spend too much time spinning my wheels trying to figure out what they are.  I have mad love for 80s/90s inserts and prototypes, but I always seem to gravitate toward the shiny high-end stuff. Even still, I'm going to go ahead and limit this to my top 10 favorite game used /

Jose Canseco Super Collector RAREST Non 1/1 Cards

Someone made a post on Blowout Forums asking for people to post their rarest non 1 of 1 cards.  This is right in my wheelhouse, so instead of just posting a card, I ended up posting several ... along with some tl;dr descriptions :)  It was intriguing enough, I thought I'd share it here as well (with a little more verbiage as well!) RAREST Non 1/1 Jose Canseco Super Collector Cards FLEER VAULT UNRELEASED PROTOTYPES These were mock ups that never materialized, and came out after the Fleer bankruptcy. They are on paper stock instead of card stock, and I have

Happy Allen & Ginter Day!

In honor of A&G being released today, I thought I'd have some photoshop fun.  Here is what the real boxes/packs look like: And here is what they look like after I had some photoshop fun w/them :) Happy A&G Day!  #bringmeyourcanseco

2000 Pacific Crown Royale Uncirculated Archive Proofs

In 2000, Pacific came out with a Crown Royale die-cut set. These beautiful cards feature gold foil and were die cut in the shape of a crown. In typical Pacific fashion, they produced a number of parallels to this. The most notable are the 2000 Crown Royale proofs.  These black and white offerings were printed on clear acetate and fell less than one per box. Greater still, are the 2000 Pacific Crown Royale Proofs serial numbered to 50.   These cards are the exact same as above, but with a gold stamped box and serial numbered.  It took me two

HOW TO: Enhance a National Treasures Bash Brothers Booklet – With Pictures

I'm going to keep my writing to a minimum, and try to tell the story mostly with pics. In 2015, Panini came out with the first BASH BROTHERS booklet card.  It came in two flavors:  Autographed and Patch.  They were numbered to just 5 each. The Autographed booklet Pros: First and currently only "real" autographed booklet of the brothers in bash. Cons:  Drab looking, it says "combo materials" instead of "combo signatures", the McGwire autograph is UPSIDE DOWN  (NOTE: To the others who have this card, please do not think I'm putting this card down - I really want one!) The

New High End, Customs and … High End Customs!

On the heels of a dry spell, things have picked up ... a lot, and that is in no small part to being hit with the releases of Topps Series 2, Museum and Tier One.  (Stay tuned!  Stadium Club, Allen & Ginter and Clearly Authentic ALL drop within a few weeks as well!)  I just hit a milestone, passing up 600 pack-pulled autographs of Canseco alone! Before showing off some of the latest 2017 stuff, I wanted to show some of the other cool cards: This Stadium Club Ring Leaders is cool enough by itself, but as it isn't all
