Call it off-season depression, or whatever you want, but I am going through baseball withdrawal and figured now would be a good time to do what I’ve been wanting to do for quite a while.  I’ve been looking forward to putting together a video series of my Canseco collection post-supercollectordom.  I can hardly believe it, but it has been a year and a half since I stopped my relentless search for each and every card depicting the 40-40 man.  Time flies when you are having fun … and having a baby 🙂 BTW, Beckett is six months old today, and Atticus just turned 17!

Totaling a similar run time of Mission Impossible (About 1 hour and 45 minutes for all 3 episodes!) I understand that many won’t want to watch me drone on and on about my collection, but nevertheless, I have made the videos, and are available to be seen.  Fun fact!  Mission Impossible grossed $147,700,000.  The quality of these videos may be a *tad* lower than MI 🙂

I’ve been looking forward to putting together a video of my cards, but what really sparked this, was a box I ran across in my office.  Inside of it was a number of player worn jersey patches & game used bat pieces that I cut up and had Canseco wear/sign at his house for future customs for my collection.  This is how the three part video saga began.

EPISODE ONE:

After that, I decided to do a separate video of all of my custom cards I created for my collection.  I don’t think I have ever shared all the customs I’ve done for my personal collection in one spot, so here it is.

EPISODE TWO:

Last but not least, my collection of “real” Canseco baseball cards.  I used to have well over 5,100 unique items.  Now, I have around 200 or so (not counting my near run of base / base inserts).  This collection has been thoughtfully assembled by acquiring my favorite cards to look at and own.  It helped a lot having owned virtually everything before, and being able to look at my old collection online, to see what I truly loved.  I only went after the cards that were truly meaningful to me, and have picked up several that I never had and came out after I called it quits.  I was looking most forward to doing this video, because a video allows me to show off their true shine.  Plus, I’m always happy to help others who may find a card they like in one of my videos – if a card inspires them, I can tell them what it is, so they can see if their guy is in the set.

(Ignore the Pujols & Astros card as they aren’t shown in the video, this was just a fun messy shot of my cards – I am CONSTANTLY looking through them!)

EPISODE THREE:

That’s a wrap on my Jose Canseco collection for now.  Thanks for reading/watching!
