Top 100 Jose Canseco Baseball Cards – 2024 Topps ’89 Topps Silver Pack Chrome Superfractor

One bright Saturday morning in 1989, I was AMPED.
Dad took me to the card shop so I could finally buy a 1989 Topps Jose Canseco.
They didn’t have one.
So I had to “settle” for his ’89 Score card.
(And don’t get me wrong-I love the ’89 Score…but my 8/9 year-old heart wanted that Topps card!)
Fast-forward 35 years.
Topps releases a card with the same 1989 Topps design from my childhood. This time, memorializing it as the hallowed parallel, the Superfractor.
The photo they chose is perfection—pure swagger and flowing mullet, frozen mid-at-bat. He knows he’s either going to knock it out of the state or create a category 1 hurricane with a whiff. Regardless, he knows he’s putting on a don’t-blink show for thousands. It’s exactly how I remember him growing up.
Paired with the iconic ’89 Topps design, this card doesn’t just look great – it hits something deeper.
It captures my childhood fandom in a way almost no post-career Canseco card has.
