Pacific was renowned for pushing the boundaries of design throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, consistently delivering innovation when few others dared. In 1998, that pursuit of WOW factor collided perfectly with true scarcity in the Pacific Revolution Shadow Series. Even the base cards were visually striking, but Pacific took things a step further by embedding a serial-numbered parallel limited to just 99 copies—aptly named the Shadow Series.
A quick side story: one surfaced on eBay last year for the first time in quite a while, offered at a price that felt like a gift. I was genuinely bummed when I missed it. Later, while digging through my own boxes, I had a moment of pure hobby joy—I already had one waiting for me.
