This original woodcut is from June 27th, 1874 – 3 years after the team was formed – nearly a century and a half ago! It features big names of baseball pioneers such as Harry Wright – the father of baseball, his brother George, Al Spalding the sporting goods tycoon, and the man to hit the first home run – Roscoe Barnes.
