Top 100 Jose Canseco Baseball Cards – 2003 Topps Tribute Pastime Patches #/15
A year after Jose announced his retirement, Topps came through with their very first patch card of Canseco. This one is numbered to /15 and never shows up. To make things extra special, I was able to not only pick up one with gold stitching, but also one that was solid green! If I recall correctly, it wouldn’t be until 2014 when they started making patch cards of his again. The fun thing about the green version is that the exact patch was from a former supercollector’s collection, and Topps didn’t properly lay the patch down to fill the entire hole. I was able to heat up the card, and slide the patch in place to where it should be – now it is a perfect pair!
