Top 100 Jose Canseco Baseball Cards – 1999 Pacific Omega 5-Tool Talents Tiers /25

This is a sneaky card that most don’t know about, largely because it never shows up. Heck, I’ve seen most all of the grails pop more than this – Crusades, PMGs, etc. – understandable, as this is just as rare or rarer.

Orange is perhaps one of the rarest colors selected by card makers during Jose’s playing days … and certainly when paired with purple foil. In fact, only 5 other players in the set have this color combo.

For fun, I decided to dive in a little more. Here is what I’ve found:

– There are 30 cards in the set, some of which are 1/1s, /25, /50, /75, and /100. No, this isn’t the number of parallels for each card. Each card only has one parallel. For example, Clemens has a 1/1, Bonds has a /100, and Jose shown here has a /25. That’s it!

– 18 total from ALL parallel cards in the set have sold on eBay over the past 3 years. (I searched 1999 Omega Tiers.)

– Only 11 total have been graded from the serial numbered set, with half of them being Jeter…none of Canseco.

For Canseco fans, there is no telling when another /25 purple parallel will pop up, but fear not – the base card with silver foil is features the striking orange backdrop as well, and once the next one comes to market, you will be able to indulge in all of its orangey goodness without paying the grail price that the /25 purple foil parallel would command.
