Welcome to the Steroid Era Multiverse: The most ambitious and audacious signed single player project ever.  Jose Canseco is a larger than life figure that did what few other players could: he transcended the game and became a household name and pop-culture icon. 

There has never been a player quite like Jose Canseco. Not in production. Not in persona. Not in cultural impact. The Steroid Era is built on that truth.

The Steroid Era offers collectors a beautiful rainbow – all signed on card, and offered in blind packs. Each pack contains one of the following cards.

The Steroid Era celebrates his larger-than-life persona by manifesting his likeness in a number of unique variants.  This isn’t merely a rainbow of parallels with different colored borders; this is a multiverse of variants – all of which are possible to pull in the blind packs.

In our universe, Jose is known as “The Chemist”.  In this universe, Jose is known as “The Alchemist” – a master of transformation whose formulas have become the stuff of legend.  This double entendre is a nod to the term “Cardboard Alchemy” coined by Tanner Jones.

A variant cooked up by Tanner Jones over a decade ago and brought out only on Halloween each year, the legendary Frankenseco finally makes the leap to cardboard canon in the Steroid Era.

The ultimate power hitter, perfectly preserved in a state of deep-freeze dominance. Thawed out across the timelines just to shatter stadium windows and leave the league completely frozen.

MULTIVERSE VARIANT // ACTION FIGURE (Jose Toyseco) 

Fully posable, incredibly jacked, and completely unstoppable. This throwback figure brings the absolute peak of 90s toy-aisle dominance to the diamond – steroids sold separately.

Who says you shouldn’t pay good money for a Jose Canseco bat?  In this timeline, Jose is Casey, and the price-tag is right on the bat.  Plus, a very familiar bandana has ended up on his shoulder.

After a Yankees home run, an announcer famously remarked that Jose looked like a silver, cosmic superhero. This Chromium variant imagines that comparison becoming reality – transforming the ultimate slugger into a mirror-finished force built for speed and power.

A term invented by Tanner Jones in 2012, the Invisifractor remained hobby folklore for over a decade. In this timeline, the legend finally manifests itself into cardboard canon.

Cast out by the league and blackballed from the game he dominated. This pitch-black, high-gloss Obsidian variant embraces that exile, turning a dark chapter of baseball history into an indestructible, razor-sharp monument of raw defiance.

A direct homage to The Mystery Cabinet – the most ambitious custom-hobby project ever created by Tanner Jones. This Steampunk variant transforms a piece of that legendary world into cardboard canon, fusing brass gears, clockwork machinery, and mechanical power.

MULTIVERSE VARIANT // MANGA

A spectacular fusion of classic Japanese comic art and modern trading card culture. Featuring explosive action lines and iconic screen-toned shading, this ultra-premium Manga variant captures a larger-than-life legend in the ultimate collectors’ art style.  Jose isn’t just a baseball player; he’s the main character.

In addition to this, The Steroid Era also introduces a truly unique component: the fingerprint chase.  Cards signed and fingerprinted by Jose will be randomly inserted in blind packs.  

For the ultimate hunter, the fingerprint chase goes even deeper. Collectors who successfully assemble the complete set of all 5 unique fingerprints (Thumb, Index, Middle, Ring, and Pinky) will be entered into an exclusive drawing to win the ultimate bounty: A high-five from Jose …
